Tickets are now on sale for a very special event at Marlborough Literature Festival! Golding’s daughter Judy, and Nicola Presley, Lecturer in English at Bath Spa University, will be discussing Golding’s Legacy in the White Horse Bookshop in Marlborough, the place where the writer grew up. His novel The Pyramid, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, was set in the town, and Judy and Nicola will talk about the role Marlborough played in his writing. They will also consider the impact of Golding’s work on popular culture, with a focus on Lord of the Flies.
Tickets are priced at £10 each and available here. The event takes place on September 30th, at 3pm.
